Lizzy is a Paul Mitchell student working on some creative styles.
For this shoot I had a pair of very young helpers holding a large 6′ gold reflector camera right, and a small bounce umbrella camera left. The sun was starting to go down in the sky behind the model. I’ve been noticing a lot lately I love the contrast between warm and cool light colors in the hour before sunset, when most of the landscape is being illuminated by soft, pale blue, while shards of bright, warm light give everything a gold sparkle around the edges. In these photos I tried to play with that, mixing the cool color of the flash with the warm reflected sun. I like the effect.
Everything I ever needed to know about life I learned at the piano.

This is my first produced flash photo slideshow. I think I’ll produce an online version of my upcoming DJ portrait book, “Wheels of Steel” just like this. I’m also planning to revisit my Buddha series in the form of a full-screen flash slideshow. I think this is the best way to experience photos on the web – free from distractions. Just you and the photographs. I’m anxious to hear what you think about this.
